Tea Plantation Workers

Munnar in Kerala is as renowned as for the quality of its teas as for its good climate. It is a popular vacation spot during the hottest months of April and May, just before the monsoon season. At the turn of a plantation, I discovered this group of women busy carving the tea trees to harvest the best leaves. Their costume, superimposed of ordinary clothes to protect their saris remind me of the Antwerp’s famous designer Anne Demeulemeester’s  fashion defile.
